As per Jared's request I am going to give you guys some helpful hints to get started.
-You need to discuss what current events you would like to incorporate into your mosaic as well as what year you would like to begin from. Do you want to do 2008-2009 only or would you like to start from where the other group left off?
-How would you like to photograph your group????? Same positions, same cafeteria. Or totally different.
-When can everyone get together to take this photo?
-Who will be in charge of tracing the image onto the wood?
-When is everyone going to work on it?
So, go ahead and get started. I would like you all to have at least 5 posts by next week.
Thanks, Mrs. Wright

I personaly think that we should start where the last group left off, eventually making a timeline from 2003 till who knows when.I also think that we should try and get the photograph as close to the old one as possible, maybe even having the old mosaic in the background, eventhough the number of student is different it would still be cool.I think that each person should be responsible for tracing/drawing their self on the wood and reponsible for the background around their body. And the best time to take the pic would prob be right after school

Good ideas Jared!
ReplyDeleteJust an interesting fact. I was talking to a teacher during our inservice day yesterday and found out that there were pieces added to the original mosaic. They said that the 9/11 window and at least one of the people were not part of the original mosaic.....interesting! Does this change how anyone perceives the mosaic now? Does anyone remember the original. Too bad we can't talk to anyone who was involved in creating the original. Jared, don't you know one of the girls? I know that she is a Droshak...one of Tim Droshak's sisters. Maybe you could find out? Anyone else know any of the original people in the mosaic?
I hope to hear from you all soon! Okinawa, where are you????????
I still don't feel like I have much to suggest and the space bar on this computer is ghetto as hell but here goes nothing...
ReplyDeleteI know the original plan was to include some current events, and I sort of like Jared's timeline idea, but I wonder what the theme would be/how it would be laid out. Would it literally be a timeline stretched across our mosaic, or simply a collection of events from the past few years arranged in a way as to be aesthetically pleasing? Also, what events would we be depicting? Something following a specific theme, like the ongoing war or elections, or just things that have been significant in the area? or perhaps each figure could contain its own timeline of some things that have been significant to each of us? maybe use Jared's idea, again, and as each person is responsible for their own figure/background, we could use the areas where different areas of background merge to show a sense of community...
also, I don't think we should try to closely mimic the previous mosaic. I like the one that's currently up, and I would like to maybe include a few elements of homage into our own, but we should definitely do our own thing.
well, Susan, I hope you're happy, seeing as how I posted. hah.

I do like Jared's idea also, but how and when can we get us all together to take the picture? I know that they do not have the booths anymore like in the picture so...would we just use the tables then?
ReplyDelete-Allison
Good question...maybe just tables with cloumns in the background? I suppose we need to decide quickly.
ReplyDelete(I miss those booths. -_- )

Why can't we just take the picture like seventh period? I don't really understand that whole time line idea that everyone is yapping about. I just don't want ours to have people with blue skin in it, is all I have to say.
